The first complete section of the do-over is complete – Section 6, which is the engine block build. This is the first assembly completed as I need the block, plus a few other parts which mount it to the body, so I can test the fit the engine and transmission to the body.
Photos of the new build follow. You can see I once again included the four rotors inside the engine – and it spins! I have added a new video of the engine turning over.
Compared to my previous build, this one came out well. The casting on some parts isn’t as good on my first kit, but the painting went better I think – the sections between the rotors are darker and stand out better. Also I have making sure to clear-coat everything and had less paint rubbed off the parts during assembly.
